MITES | MIT Office of Engineering Outreach Programs

MITES is an exciting and rigorous 6 week residential summer program, meant for High School Juniors. If you are a Junior, visit the MITES website for more details on how to apply. Application period usually opens in mid-November and ends in early February. Financial aid is available.

Envision

For over 30 years, Envision has delivered life-changing career exploration and leadership experiences for high-aspiring students like you. Visit the Envision website for more information on their summer programs.

DaVinci Camp Summer Institute

This is an innovative math and arts summer program designed for students entering 6th-11th grades. Sessions focus on Arithmetic, Algebra, and Functions, combining hands-on science, arts and engineering workshops. For more information, visit their website: davinci-camp.com. National Hispanic Institute - The Great Debate

This is a series of summer programs ranging from 4 to 6 days dedicated to excellence and community leadership. The focus is to develop students who want to play a key role in bringing about prosperity and opportunity in their home Latino communities. Prepare for and take the necessary tests required by the colleges you are targeting

edX

Visit edX for a wealth of free online AP test prep courses and other introductory courses to get you ready for college. You can even earn official certificates and university credits for some of the free courses you can take here.

KHAN Academy

The KHAN Academy allows you to take up to 4 real full lenght SAT practice tests online, in addition to setting up a personalized practice plan with Official SAT Practice. KHAN is also a great source of material to help you with your high school courses. And best of all, it's free!

Scholarship Opportunities

LULAC National Education Service Centers (LNESC)

Sponsored by the ExxonMobile Corporation, LULAC will award one national scholarship of $20,000 (paid over four years), and twelve $2,000 local scholarships to qualified Latino high school seniors who plan to pursue a degree in engineering at U.S. Post-secondary institutions. Applicants must reside within the following cities or surrounding areas: Colorado Springs, CO; Miami, FL; Kansas City, MO; Albuquerque, NM; Philadelphia, PA; Bayamon, PR; Austin, TX; Corpus Christi, TX; Houston, TX; Dallas, TX; El Paso, TX; San Antonio, TX. Private School Scholarships

Remember that although private schools tend to have higher tuition expenses, they also tend to offer significant scholarships and financial aid. Don't shy away from applying to private schools due to their price. You may be surprised by the amount of financial aid they might offer you.
